- Protoplasm – Physical basis of life
- endoplasmic reticulum – transport of material in the cell
- semi permeable membrane -plasma membrane
- chromosomes -carrier of genetic information
Answer the following questions
1.) Why is cell called the functional unit of life?
Ans-our body is made up of cells and different organisms. Cell preformed different function in prokaryotic animals like nutrition , respiration, excretion reproduction etc are performed by single cell and in eukaryotic cell can performed different functions and cell divided into different group. Cell is the basic structural and functional unit of life of our body. Therefore cell is called functional unit of life.
2.) what is the function of plasma membrane?
Ans – plasma membrane perfoemed following functions
- -plasma membrane helps in maintain the shape if the cell
- Plasma membrane controls the flow if different molecules to and fro in the cell.
- Plasma membrane protects and supports the cell. Etc functions are perfomed by plasma membrane.
3.) which structure is there outside the cell membrane in the plant cell and what is it made of?
Ans-In plant cell there is another cover to the outside the cell membrane is called cell wall. This is made of cellulose and non-living.
4.) write three differences between plant cell and animal cell.
Ans-
Plant cell |
Animal cell |
Cell wall is present in plant cell. |
Cell wall is absent in animal cell |
Centrosome formed in plant cell during cell division. |
Centrosome are star shape body near over the nucleus middle in the animal cell. |
Vacuoles are large and singular. |
Vacuoles are many and small. |
Chloroplast is present in plant cell . |
Chloroplast is absent in animal cell. |
5.) What is the function of chloroplast?
Ans-chloropalst present in plant cell which are green in clour and help in photosynthesis.
6.) Why the cells are of different shapes and size? Give reasons.
Ans-the cells are having different shape and sizes, cell is the structural and functional unit of the life of living organisms. In every living organism cells do different fuctions or things. Each cell do their function in organisms like only single cell in amoeba do respiration, excreation, reproduction etc i.e cells has different role and different functions and therefore they posses different size and shapes in different living organisms.
