Chhattisgarh State Board Class 6 Science Chapter 11 Motion, Force and Pressure Exercise Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blanks, Questions and Answers here.
(1)
1.) Is a simple machine – c) Forceps
2.) A scissor is a lever of what kind ? – a) First
3.) Which of the following work , machines cannot do ? –
4.) Joule is a unit of – c) Work as well as energy
5.) Petroleum products have energy in the form of – a) Chemical energy
(2)
1.) Tractor is a ( complex ) machine .
2.) Fulcrum is in the middle for levers of the ( fiest ) kind .
3.) In the lever of second kind , ( load ) is in between the fulcrum and effort .
4.) The spade used to lift garbage is a lever of the ( third ) kind .
5.) The use of planks to lift drums on a truck is an example of ( inclined plane ) .
6.) In the extended rubber of a catapult ( potential ) energy is stored .
(3)
1.) What is a machine?
The element that we use to make a work easier is known as machine .
2.) What is known as a lever?
A straight or curved rod , which can be supported at a convenient point and can move freely around that point , is known as a lever .
3.) How are fulcrum, load and effort placed in different kinds of levers?
In the first kind of lever , the fulcrum is in between the load and the effort .
In the second kind of lever , the load is between the fulcrum and the effort .
In the third kind of lever , the the effort is between the load and the fulcrum .
4.) What is work? Write the units of work.
The product of force and the distance travelled in the direction of force is known as work.
The unit of work is Joule .
5.) If a body moves a distance of 12 metres on applying a force of 125 newton, compute the amount of work done.
If a body moves a distance of 12 metres on applying a force of 125 newton .
The amount of work done is = ( 125 * 12 ) = 1500 newton metre = 1500 Joules .
6.) Define energy. What is the relation between work and energy?
The ability to do work is known as energy .
The food is our source of energy . If we do not take food then our ability to do work decreases and after taking food the ability again increases . Here , the chemical energy stored in food transforms into our mascular energy that provide us energy to do work . This is the relation between work and energy .
7.) Write five types of energy. Give examples of each.
a) Electric energy – electric bulb .
b) Chemical energy – the energy stored in coal .
c) Thermal energy – rubbing two stones .
d) Light energy – burning candle .
e) Sound energy – ringing of school bell .
(4) 1) The roads of hills are curvy
Ans. Get up and down on a straight roads of hills is very challenging . In hill areas , it is more easier to go up or down on curvy roads than straight roads . So , The roads of hills are curvy .
2.) It is easier to take out water from a well by using a pulley.
Ans. It is easier to take out water from a well by using a pulley because it changes the direction of applied force and makes our work easier .
3)
a) A heavy box is required to be raised to the terrace of a housea. Can you use a pulley/ roller/ inclined plane?
What kind of energy is required to do this task?
A heavy box is required to be raised to the terrace of a house –
a) I can use a pulley if I want to raise the heavy box direct to the terrace and also we can use a inclined plane if I want to raise the box through stairs . But I can not use roller.
b) Kinetic energy is required to do this work.
