Lesson 10 – Bird Talk

1.)(A) Answer the questions :

1.) Listen to the sounds of the birds. Make a list of these words:

For example: chirp, chirp. chirp

Sounds of bird:-

quack, quack, quack.

caw, caw, caw.

Now, write four sentences on birds using the following words.

  • Nest

Birds make nests.

  • chirp

Sparrow makes the sound chirp.

  • sky

Birds fly in the sky.

  • fly, wings

Birds fly with their wings.

 

1.) Write the names of the two birds you read in the poem.

Answer:- Robin and Jay are the names of the two birds in the poem.

 

2.) According to the birds, what are the three things that people can’t do?

Answer:- Don’t eat beetles, don’t grow wings, don’t like sitting on wires and things are the three things that people can’t do.

 

2.) Let’s talk

1.) What do birds think of people?

Answer:- People are so funny they can’t eat beetles, don’t grow wings, etc.

 

2.) Would you like to be birds? Why? Why not?

Answer:- Yes I like to be a bird because they are so small they can do anything like sitting on wire and can fly with their wings.

 

3.) Tell the name of birds you see around. Try to collect information about the birds mentioned in the poem and share with the class.

Answer:- Around us we see birds like parrots, pigeons, sparrows, crows,etc.

Parrots are green in colour. They have red colour beak and they make sound of screech.

 

3.) Vocabulary

(A) Write sounds of the birds in the place given using help box :

quack, caw, coo, chirp, hoot, screech

1.) sparrows :- chirp.

3.) ducks :- quack.

4.) owls :- coo.

5.) doves :- hoot.

(C.) Make Lists :

Sort out and write the rhyming words from the poem, ‘Birds Talk’. Add some more words to them.
