Caste based reservation in India Essay : Caste based reservation is by giving priorities in terms of food, housing , employment and other social benefits to the minority and marginalized groups of the society in India.
This was done to bring equality amount the upper caste groups and lower minor groups as earlier year the minorities were dominated and ill-treated by the upper caste groups where preferences were given to the upper caste groups, where as the lower caste groups were treated as untouchables.
In India the Government has introduced the caste based system to eradicate dominance of the upper caste and to bring in equality among poor and upper and middle class of the society.
There are several caste like the OBCs, STs, SC etc. And the general category. For most of the schemes and other employment or education opportunities the minority groups have been given first preference as compared to the general public. The goal was to inspire the western and marginalized groups to be financially and socially stable in comparison to the upper caste of the society.
This caste based reservations have led to lots of arguments and physical actions against the lower minority groups, where in groups like the Dalit’s were physically assaulted causing kayos in the society. However the caste based reservation has contributed to a large extent in bringing caste based equality and changing the mentality of the society.
Caste based reservation to certain extent has created social disturbance, as the upper highly educated castes are ignored in regards to Government jobs or other schemes, wherein the lower uneducated caste are given jobs just creating differences in the society between these groups.
Caste based reservations have motivated the lower minority groups to get the required education facilities to enable them to get better employment, and other facilities like health facilities and other schemes from the Government.
