Capacitor MCQs
It’s highly risky to handle high charges at given potential. It can cause damage to give n instrument also, so to avoid this system of charge used is known as capacitor.
Capacitor or Condenser is an arrangement in which capacity of conductor is increased without increase in its potential.
There are three used types of capacitor which are,
- Parallel plate condenser.
- Spherical condenser.
- Cylindrical condenser.
Capacitors can be connected in two ways
1.) Series combination:
For number of capacitors connected in series, the equivalent capacitance is given as,
■ Equivalent capacity of series combination is smaller than value of individual capacity.
■ The series combination is used to reduce capacity.
2) Parallel combination:
For number of condensers in parallel
∴ CP = C1 +C2 +C3 + …………..+Cn
■ Equivalent capacity of parallel combination is greater than individual capacity in combination. Parallel
■ Combination is used to increase capacity of circuit.
