( 1 ) Read the sentences and write ‘ Yes ‘ or ‘ No ‘

 

a ) Chakradhwaj Singha was a brave General.  

Answer : No

Explanation: It was not Chakradhwaj Singha but rather it was Lachit , who was appointed as a brave general.

Answer : Yes

c ) Give the name of the person who was selected to become the general .

It was Lachit who was appointed as the generalby the king . According to the king , one who depicts courageous act and have enough respect for oneself is the perfect person to hold this position . As Lachit portrayed these qualities, due to this reason he was selected as the Borphukan .

 

d ) What did the attendant do to made Lachit so angry ?

The moment Lachit’s turban was pulled off by the attendant , Lachit felt extremely offended . As, his self respect was hurt due to this reason he became very aggressive.It was the king’ s instructions that made the attendant execute such activity .The king primarily desired to test Lachit’ bravery.

 

e ) What did the king want to test in Lachit ?

The king wanted to test whether Lachit had the ability to portray courageous act and whether he holds sufficient respect for himself. So , these were the central qualities that the king wanted to test in Lachit . After meeting these criteria, Lachit was successfully selected as the Borphukan. In short , this clearly shows that Lachit was a brave general.
