Ans: Gandhi committed this crime when he was fifteen. Gandhi stole a bit of gold out of his meat-eating brother’s armlet. His brother had run into a debt of about twenty-five rupees. He had on his arm an armlet of solid gold. Gandhi took a clip a bit out of it. But, later the debt was cleared.
b.) How did Gandhi feel after stealing?
Ans: Gandhi did not feel good after stealing. He resolved never to steal again, and made up his mind to confess it to his father. But he did not dare to speak, neitherbecause he was afraid of his father beating me, nor he recalled his father ever beating him. But, because he was afraid of the pain that it would cause him.
c.) What did Gandhi’s father do after receiving the confession note?
