ii) Where has the speaker stopped?

Ans: In this poem the speaker is driving a horse-drawn carriage, and he stops between a frozen lake and a snow-covered forest.

iii) Why does the speaker stop?

Ans: The speaker stopped because he thought he knew the owner of the woods, and thought that the owner lived near a village.

iv) What sounds could the narrator hear?
